[ To falling ]
I once told them that when the time was right they were present as strings, or ropes or whatever it is exactly that holds you from the rest of the free fall when you pull the chord, after all I have never leaped from an airplane so what would I know, I’m too chicken-shit to put myself in that situation (soon though). They were smarter and more intelligent and perhaps still, but still I am falling[still learning]. The view is good from here. The descent is pleasant with room for turbulence. // no need to feel guilt (we’ll touch on that later) // The smell of cigs takes me back to the duplex. It was around the corner and I didn’t have to call to see if he was around. I would run through the backyard where when it rained it would fill the ditch enough to toss an innertube out and float. I would run home in the dark because it was night enough to allow that which was not really there to take control of my pace. He was the best then. // We sip. We chug. We nibble. We devour. We sniff and we remember. It smelled like rain that day and the song was just on time that is why I do this. Remember then, YOU should, and YOU probably do. // cigs in bed, drinks in bed // Put this on repeat and play it loud and remember.
